Our home workstation is made up of mostly leftovers. The desk is a Singer St Regis Sewing Machine Cabinet that I inherited from my Grandma, the monitor is an LG TV that we (work) still use for a “digital display” at trade shows, The dock was of course leftover from work upgrades as well. Out of all of this though, the chair was the worst part. Prior to this we were using one of the green wing back chairs which meant the keyboard had to go in your lap because of the height mismatch between the chair and table. So we picked up this Costway office chair as the first step towards a better home office setup.
Because our “office” is part of our main living area I didn’t want it to look like we brought a piece of cube land home with us by having a traditional office chair. This certainly checked the box of being more stylish than your average task chair. The next must have is the ability to hold some weight. I’m a bit more Hardy than Laurel, so the weight rating counts! Obviously comfort was the most important, but shopping on Target.com meant I had to take a chance on that. Luckily this oversized chair has plenty of cushion and is wide enough that I can sit on my leg and fit my entire leg on the chair with me! I’m a fidgeter, so different seating positions makes me able to work a bit longer.
